lifecell support SMS charity in Ukraine.
Since 2013, the operator has been collaborating with the Ukrainian Forum of Philanthropists on the development of telecom charity and took an active part in the development of new norms of Ukrainian legislation to abolish the taxation of SMS messages sent for charity.
In spring 2017, the company, together with representatives of the charity sector and telecommunications, joined the Working Group on the Implementation of Telecom-charity.
March 20, 2018 the laws on the abolition of taxation of messages on charity, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada and signed by the President of Ukraine in November 2016, were put into force.
On June 1, 2018, lifecell launched SMS charity service in Ukraine, having provided free short numbers to charitable organizations, which were the the first to send requests to the operator after the legislative changes had come into force (March 20, 2018). The company fully incurred the costs associated with servicing short numbers and processing charitable SMS, regardless of their number.
Starting from June 1, 2018, donations can be made via SMS sent to short numbers in lifecell network:
